Four people have been arrested following the weekend’s violence, Police revealed this afternoon.

At a press conference, Superintendent Antoine Daniels said two suspects are in custody following the fatal shooting of Kimwandae Walker as he flew kites with his children on Good Friday.

A further two were arrested after a large fight at the Royal Artillery Association, St. George’s, in which an 18-year-old man was shot in his upper body, and a 19-year-old was stabbed, said Mr. Daniels.

Both are in King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where their injuries are described as serious but not life threatening.

The Superintendent told the media six or seven people were involved in the altercation at a reggae party at the RAA, shortly after 3 a.m. today.

Also at the press conference, Public Safety Minister David Burch suggested Parliament could be reconvened in response to the weekend’s violence, with discussions underway about possible new measures against firearm crimes.
