Breaking News: TS Fiona fizzles out
Tropical Storm Fiona lashed Bermuda with thunder and lightning in the early hours today but ended up fizzling out into nothing.
A Bermuda Weather Service spokesman said the thunderstorms ran from 2.39 am to 4.55 am when the system was to the north east of Bermuda.
The storm is no longer a threat, and has degenerated into to the remnants of a low, although small craft and thunder warnings remained in place this morning.
A spokesman for the Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre said there have been no incidents reported as a result of the weather.
"The expected winds did not pick up," he said. "It was a little bit of a non event and we had no marine related incidents."
However, he said that the Norwegian Spirit, which was due to arrive at 9am, has been delayed due to Hurricane Earl. Further information on that will be available later.
A fire service spokesman said there was nothing to report.
