Coco Reef Resort in Paget has been given the go-ahead to build a beachside bar and restaurant.

Owner John Jefferis said the restaurant, to be named Rickys, should seat about 100 people on different levels.

It will be built on a wooden platform onto the sand and should cost about $1 million, said Mr. Jefferis.

He said he is hoping it will be open at the beginning of May when the property - the former Stonington Beach - re-opens for the season.

"You can never have enough options for the guests. To sit close to the water sipping a cocktail watching the sun go down is the dream of a Bermuda vacation," he said.
