A crack user promised to ?better his life? after admitting drugs possession at Magistrates? Court.

Clifford Rawlings, 26, was fined $800 on Tuesday by Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner for an offence committed on June 22 last year.

Crown counsel Wayne Caines told the court that Police officers searched Rawlings after stopping him in Pembroke and found a brown paper twist containing 0.15 grams of freebase cocaine, known as crack, with a street value of $50.

He told them: ?I just found it.?

The court heard that unemployed Rawlings, of Deepdale Road, Pembroke, had no previous convictions.

He told Mr Warner: ?I would just like to apologise to the Magistrates? Court. Something like this can never take place again.

?I?m just trying to better my life right now. Something like this will never happen again as far as I?m concerned.?
