A motorcyclist suffered serious facial injuries and a broken leg after he crashed as he attempted to overtake a heavy truck.

Police say both vehicles were travelling east along South Road, Warwick, shortly before 12.40 p.m. on Monday.

They crashed when the motorcyclist, a 26-year-old Warwick man, tried to overtake the Mack Truck as it made a right turn near the junction with Warwick Lane.

Officers are investigating the incident and have appealed for witnesses to contact their local Police Station or call Police headquarters on 295-0011.
