eMonday shopping initiative to launch next week
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 8: More than 30 entrepreneurs have signed up for a new Government initiative set to boost online business in Bermuda.
eMonday aims to increase Internet shopping, using discounts and promotions available on Mondays starting next week.
Minister of Business Development Patrice Minors told a press conference today, that shopping online remains a top activity for Internet users on the Island.
She said a 2009 survey revealed 68 percent regularly shop for goods and services online.
“For those who may need just a little refresher about the eMonday initiative, its purpose is quite simple. The aim of eMonday is to enable and encourage the development of e-commerce and highlight the importance technology plays in supporting our local entrepreneurs.
“Our ultimate goal is to increase retail sales by using online shopping discounts and promotions only available for one day - eMonday.”
