Four vying for St. George?s seat
Four candidates have come forward to contest the final vacant common councillor seat on the Corporation of St. George.
There were originally only four nominations for the five councillor seats during the Corporation election last month, which saw Mariea Caisey become Mayor by a margin of three votes.
It was the first St. George's election that has seen less than the required number of candidates come forward for the nine posts.
The four people who stood to be councillors were elected onto the Corporation opposed, leaving only one vacant seat to be filled.
When a revised date for nominations for the final seat closed last Thursday, four candidates had come forward.
One of those seeking election is Steven Hollis, who was formerly a councillor until he ran unsuccessfully for an Alderman seat in the main election last month.
The other three candidates are Delcina Bean-Burrows, Alfonso Harris, and Nicole O'Connell. The election will take place next Thursday, February 16, with the polling station at the Town Hall open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
