Par-la-Ville Park toilets to be razed

The public toilets at Par-la-Ville Park are to be demolished by the Corporation of Hamilton to enhance the entrance to the park.

The toilets, which are on the Queen Street side of the park between the Lemon Tree Restaurant and the Perot Post Office, will be torn down to create a new entrance to the park, said City of Hamilton Mayor Lawson Mapp.

?The demolition of the public toilets are in the works but there is no definitive date when they will be taken down,? Mr. Mapp said.

?Our hope is that this will interface with the hotel going up near the park,? he said.

Plans to build a hotel at the Par-la-Ville car park site are in the works although a developer for the site has yet to be decided.
