Police have made a renewed appeal for witnesses to the road accident which claimed the life of popular former Police officer Alan Oliver.
It is thought Mr. Oliver died after he lost control of his motorcycle and hit a pole in North Shore Road, Devonshire, on Friday night.
The accident happened near the Barkers Hill roundabout, as the 41-year-old was heading east, at about 10.30 p.m.
He was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards. No other vehicle appears to have been involved in the crash.
Police last night said they wanted to speak to anyone who may have been in the area where the crash happened. Witnesses are urged to call P.c. Colin Mill at the traffic enforcement unit on 299-4265 or 515-8732.
