A new science fiction series on the Bermuda Triangle aims to ?make kids scared again?.

?X-Men? and ?The Usual Suspects? director Bryan Singer is producing an eight-hour Sci Fi Channel mini-series about the Bermuda Triangle, claims Sci Fi Wire, the specialist channel?s news service.

Mr. Singer is writing a treatment of the as-yet untitled mini-series, to be aired in four parts, with ?Independence Day? producer Dean Devlin.

?The hook is turn the myth upside down, make kids scared of the Bermuda Triangle again,? Singer said.

?The Triangle has lost its lustre because of war, current events, the usual things that turn people away from traditional horror.

?The Triangle represents the unknown, everyone?s greatest fear.?

Mr. Singer does not plan to direct an episode of the series, because the nature of the project requires one director to handle all four parts.

?The way it would be sequenced, the entire series would have to be shot out of sequence, so I wouldn?t be able to shoot one of the episodes,? he added.

?The guy who does them has to do them all. So I?d just produce it. But I co-wrote the stories.?
