More than 2,000 people have walked the equivalent of 15,909 miles.

They have lost 1,584 pounds.

And in doing so have logged 3,977.25 hours in the first ten days of the online, team-programme Live Healthy Bermuda 100 Day Challenge.

The challenge, which urges participants to live healthier lifestyles, was launched by the Bermuda Diabetes Association, Aspen Insurance, Lindo's Supermarket, the Department of Health and Quaker Oats in conjunction with this paper's Have a Heart Campaign on January 17.

Yesterday Terry Faulkenberry from Aspen Insurance Ltd., said even though only 306 of the 364 teams logged their numbers, the organisers were pleased with the results.

He said: "We are off to a great start based on the teams that have reported in. When the remainder of the teams report, I expect the numbers will improve even more.

"So far, 306 teams have logged their results. I'm not sure how many individuals that represents but I assume it's just getting used to the process."

Mr. Faulkenberry also wanted to remind the teams to make sure they logged their numbers every Friday and anyone who hasn't, but wants to, can still join.

He said: "A reminder that you can join at any time during the 100 days. Simply go to www.livehealthybermuda.org"
