An Air Canada flight to Toronto from Bermuda was delayed for almost two hours yesterday afternoon after a baggage handling device caused minor damage to the aircraft.
The 1.15 p.m. AC943 flight took off an hour and 53 minutes late after a temporary repair was done on the Airbus E320 craft.
An Air Canada spokesman said the damage was inadvertently caused to an unpressurised area near the cargo door of the plane when baggage was being unloaded from the incoming AC942 flight from Toronto.
He said: ?The damage was carefully inspected by our pilot and local maintenance services and a temporary repair was made.
?The outbound flight 943 proceeded as safety was never compromised.?
