Ambitious youngsters have chance to career ahead
There will be plenty to do for career-minded students next week when the Association of Bermuda International Companies and public and private employers offer two days of networking and career information.
On March 29, the Association of Bermuda International Companies will be sponsoring a forum entitled 'Meeting the Future Leaders of Bermuda', to be held at the Bermuda National Gallery from 4.30 to 7.30 p.m.
On March 30, a careers fair will open its doors at the Number One Shed on Front Street.
Premier Alex Scott kicks off the event at noon and students ? or those seeking to change their career ? will gain access to employers representing the public and private sectors. There will also be entertainment and a fashion show to round out the event.
The Bermuda Technology Education Collaborative (B.TEC), the Chamber of Commerce, the National Training Board and Bermuda Career's Centre will be joined by overseas school and college recruiters. The recruiters will be on hand to give advice and information on admission to their respective institutions.
Marisa Hall, coordinator for B.TEC said: "We have organised the future leaders event to continue to show the business community all the positive results in the senior school system that we have had since B.TEC was launched.
"This year we are teaming up with the careers fair organisers because there is an obvious synergy between these two events. We are hoping that our students attend and make the most use of both of these events."
The careers fair is a collaboration among the Department of Labour and Training, and the Hamilton Rotary Club.
For more information contact Marisa Hall at 294-7230.
Students can register with Joann Adams at Berkeley Institute or Theresa Millett at CedarBridge Academy.
Businesses interested in taking part can call Karen Franks at the Department of Labour and Training at 297-7716.
