Belco announces kite safety poster winner
Warwick Academy student Hayley Dill has been announced as the winner of the Belco Bird Kite Safety Poster competition.
Hayley, a Primary Two student, was presented with a $500 donation for her school and a specially made Bermuda kite for winning the contest.
The poster she submitted was judged best overall from entries submitted by Primary One and Two students.
The competition is intended to promote safe kite-making and kite-flying.
Earlier this month Belco Kiteman Cornell Dunkley and another Belco representative visited each one of the Island's Primary schools.
Over 1,700 students in Primary One and Two enjoyed the new Belco Bird Kite Safety video and accompanying safety talk and demonstration of Linesmen's gear by Mr. Dunkley.
The kite safety campaign will wind up on Good Friday with the Belco Bird visiting safe kite-flying locations around the Island.
