Whale songs lecture

Whale songs will be explained by expert Flip Nicklin at City Hall on Friday evening.

Mr. Nicklin has travelled the world on assignment for National Geographic and recent winters have been spent working with researchers Dr. Jim Darling and Meagan Jones in the waters off Maui in Hawaii.

Mr. Nicklin said: "Whales are most intriguing and have their own special songs which they use to communicate with each other. We can learn a lot from listening and studying these magical creatures."

Bermuda Zoological Society Treasurer Bill Scott said: "It is particularly appropriate that a video on whale songs be shown in Bermuda. This is where it all started. The first ever recordings of humpbacks were made in Bermuda by Frank Watlington."

Tickets are available at the front desk of the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo or from the City Hall box office all this week from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

He told the court: "I'm sorry. I've been in a drug programme since then and been clean for the last four or five months and I've passed all the urine tests. It's not going to happen again."

Mr. Greaves replied: "Yeah, rain isn't going to fall again."
