Bermudian students awarded bursaries

Minister of Telecommunications and E-commerce Michael Scott presented two scholarships to Bermudian students pursuing education in the technology sector.

Jenai Robinson was awarded the William and Christopher Archer Scholarship and Jokeita Henry was awarded the SBI Networking Technology Scholarship at the Ministry of Telecommunications and E-commerce this week.

Mr. Robinson?s scholarship was donated in memory of William and Christopher Archer who were both involved in the technology sector.

Mr. Robinson enters his second year at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is majoring in Software and Information Systems. He is a graduate of Warwick Academy.

Mr. Robinson said: ?I hope to come out of college and be a network administrator and hopefully open my own business in computer graphics.?

Ms Henry has already returned to the New England Institute of Technology and is working towards her Bachelors in Information Technology. She is a graduate of Berkeley Institute and Bermuda College.

SBI Project manager Gerard de Vere said that his firm had been encouraging and helping young Bermudians entering the computer industry for the last eight years.
