Blue Angel arrives today

US Navy F-18 fighters from the Blue Angels are one of the types of plane that will be showcased during the Bermuda International Air Show next June

Aircraft buffs waiting for the Bermuda International Air Show in June will have a chance to see one of the members of the American aerobatics team, the Blue Angels today.

?The number seven jet of the Blue Angels will arrive at around 3.30 p.m. today and we?re expecting to maybe get a sneak preview of what to expect in June,? said Kurvin Spence, the founder of the Airborne Foundation.

The Blue Angels, officially known as the US Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, along with Harrier planes and other fighter jets, the US Army?s Golden Knights stunt parachute team and Stealth fighters are due to be on show at the June 12 to June 13 show at the Bermuda International Airport.

Today, the Airborne Foundation, which was founded in 2002, along with Major Chandler Seagraves from the Blue Angels, will be discussing the requirements for the air show with airport staff and event affiliates.

The Number Seven plane will be accompanied by a fuel plane that will assist its journey, Mr. Spence said.

?They will be leaving Tuesday morning around 8 a.m. if you miss them on Monday. After that you?ll have to wait until June,? said Gavin Smith, marketing coordinator for the Airborne Foundation.

Mr. Smith said he has received a lot of positive feedback about the upcoming show and added that the Blue Angels are excited about coming to Bermuda.
