Breaking News: Asbestos found at Clearwater Middle School
Asbestos has been found in an area of Clearwater Middle School, Government announced today.
Remediation work is currently underway. The St. David's school is expected to reopen as scheduled on September 8.
A press released was issued this afternoon, advising the public that the asbestos was discovered in “an isolated area” in the kitchen ceiling.
“Senior officials from the Department of Education will be making a site visit to Clearwater Middle School on Monday, August 30, 2010 and the results of air quality testing in the aforementioned area will be received shortly thereafter. The purpose of this testing is to ensure that there are no airborne materials in the area.
“Please be assured that the Department of Education is committed to ensuring that Clearwater Middle School is a healthy environment for all of its occupants.”
