Breaking News: Body found in Hamilton
The body of a 57-year-old Pembroke man was found this morning in the doorway of a store next to Par-La-Ville car park.
He has not been officially named by Police, but The Royal Gazette understands the victim is the father of Ruth Binns and Edward (Sleepy) Dill, who were both killed by their partners in the past three years.
Foul play is not thought to be a factor in today’s sudden death, but it has not been ruled out as the investigation is in its early stages.
The body was found at about 8 a.m. by Corporation of Hamilton workers outside the W.J. Boyle building which hosts Bermuda Gas and Belco offices.
A doctor arrived at 9.20 a.m. and pronounced him dead. Shortly afterwards, tearful family members of the victim arrived at the scene.
About 30 yards of a narrow road off Church Street, in between Par-La-Ville car park and the W.J. Boyle building, was taped off while Police officers guarded the body this morning.
Ms Binns was killed by her boyfriend Arnold Astwood in an argument September 2007, less than a year after Sleepy was stabbed to death by his girlfriend Andrina Smith, also in a domestic dispute.
