Breaking News: Golf cart jaunt proves costly

A construction worker caught driving an unlicensed and uninsured golf cart appeared in Magistrates’ Court today.

Police stopped Maurice Pitcher on May 5 as he drove the vehicle along a main road in Dockyard.

Pitcher told Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner this morning that he didn’t know the vehicle was unlicensed or uninsured as it belonged to Correia Construction.

Despite that he was fined $1,750 and given two demerit points.
