Breaking News: Gunshots at Southampton Rangers Club

Gunshots were fired at Southampton Rangers Club around 1.30 a.m. today, only a day after shots were directed at a home in Bluebell Lane, Sandys.

In the last week, four separate firearm incidents have been reported, including gunshots in Warwick and Sandys.

Two men have also been arrested in connection with an imitation firearm being brandished.

Police held a press conference this morning on what they see as a growing trend.

“Just from the figures, we’ve had 35 firearms reports this year, 22 of which have been confirmed,” said Superintendent Paul Wright, head of the Serious and Organised Crime Division. “It’s a worrying trend.”

He said that one of the main problems the Police are having is a lack of people willing to step forward to aid police investigations.

“My detectives can cite many examples where they are satisfied that people have witnessed incidents and can identify the offenders but refuse to cooperate with the police,” said Supt. Wright. “Often the very communities that have been shot up end up protecting the offender.”
