Breaking News: Inflation falls to 2.8%

Inflation edged down to 2.8 percent in May, according to Government figures released today.The main driver behind the rise in the cost of living was the increase in the cost of health and personal care, up 8.1 percent compared to a year earlier.The transport and vehicles sector also saw a 6.1 percent rise, while food prices rose 2.3 percent, the Consumer Price Index showed.

May’s inflation rate dipped slightly from the 2.9 percent recorded in April.
