Breaking News: JetBlue to bring in second flight from JFK

Budget airline JetBlue is introducing a second flight on its route between Bermuda and New York in May and bringing in a bigger aircraft in the meantime.

The low-cost carrier will increase the number of seats available on its daily flight to and from JFK from 100 to 150 next week.

On May 1, it will begin operating two flights a day — with a total of 250 seats — for four days of the week, increasing to five days a week on May 21.

Premier Dr. Ewart Brown told a press conference today that Government would spend $2 million on a “heightened awareness campaign” to try to attract more New Yorkers to the Island.

He said JetBlue’s decision came after air arrivals from New York rose “sharply” during the final quarter of 2008.
