Police are investigating reports of gunshots in Sandys.

A Police spokesman said: “Around 10.45 p.m. yesterday, Police received a report of gunshots in the Long Bay Lane/Daniels Head area. Officers attended the scene and conducted a search of the vicinity.

“Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen any suspicious individuals or activity in this area to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 295-0011 or confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.”

The incident comes as Government and Police consider having a guns amnesty to get weapons off the street.
