Brown to address UN
Pollster and political commentator Walton Brown will represent Bermuda this month at a United Nations conference on decolonisation.
The UN conference in Anguilla from May 22 to 24 is to analyse the individual circumstances of seven non-governing territories in the Caribbean and Bermuda to focus how they will move towards independence.
In 2001, the UN declared the second international decade for the eradication of colonialism.
According to the United Nations Chronicle, the seminar, which is held annually, will also celebrate the ?week of solidarity with the peoples of all colonial territories fighting for freedom, independence and human rights?.
Mr. Brown, a strong supporter of independence, will give a talk on the economic implications of self-determination in Bermuda.
