Busy arraignments session in Supreme Court
Murder accused George (Messy) McDonald Liburd, 30, of Pembroke, has been given a provisional trial date of March 29 next year. He denies killing mother-of-three Chena Danette Trott, 32, at the Esso TigerMarket on Crawl Hill in Hamilton Parish on August 9 last year.
And Dr. Amenemhat Waset Aen-Ra Tamerry, 47 and Maatkai Hatsheput Tamerry, 35, formerly Clark Godwin and Regina Woods, accused of killing their daughter A-Mya between May 1, 2000 and March 1, 2001, will stand trial on March 2, 2004.
Danvers Seymour, Jr., 25, of Field Lane, Sandys, pleaded not guilty to wounding with intent and possession of a knife in relation to an assault on July 11.
Dennis Patrick Simmons, 30, of Brightside Crescent, Smith?s, Kingsley Owen Young, 34, and Rodney Craig Simmons, 31, both of Tribe Road, Paget, all pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to import cannabis on January 6 this year. The Simmons? both denied possession of cannabis with intent to supply and Dennis Simmons denied a further charge of possession of cannabis.
Jamie Edward Cox, 26, of Pembroke, pleaded not guilty to four charges of importation and possession with intent to supply of cannabis and cocaine.
Gary Patrice Raynor, 35 of no fixed abode, pleaded not guilty to robbery while New Jersey resident Corey Allen Ewings, 20, denied six counts of importing heroin, cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply all three of the drugs on September 12. Ewings, from Newark, was remanded in custody until December?s arraignments session.
An 18-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty to seven counts of carnal knowledge of a girl under 14 between April and September this year.
Darrin Marco Burgess, 21 Battery Close, St. George?s and Rashad David George Cooper, 20 of Cedar Park Road, Devonshire, both deny grievous bodily harm with intent and Mr. Cooper denies a charge of stealing dating back to June this year.
A Jamaican, Glennamur Pauline Russell, 45, of Union Street, Pembroke, pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to import cocaine in July.
All of the above will appear again at January?s arraignment session apart from Ewings, who will appear next month.
Ricardo James Lamb, 19, of St. David?s, pleaded guilty to importation of cocaine and cannabis worth $60,000 in July but denied charges of possession of those drugs with intent to supply. A pre-sentence report was ordered for the teenager and he will return in next month?s arraignments session.
John Aaron Gerena, 27, from Springfield, Massachusetts, admitted importing accused of importing $750,000 worth of liquid cocaine in February although denied a charge of possession with intent to supply.
He was remanded in custody until sentencing on November 13. A sergeant in the Bermuda Regiment, Rodwell Edmond Symonds, 36, of South Shore Road, Warwick, will stand trial for importing cannabis into the Island on February 9, 2004.
Dana Marie Francis, 26, who has pleaded not guilty to importing cocaine and being in possession of the drug that was intended for supply will appear at next month?s arraignments.
Dean Leslie Eve, 32, of Cedar Park Road, Devonshire, who has admitted an attempted robbery in April on an American woman will be sentenced on Thursday, November 13.
Charges against alleged Police impersonator Richard Michael Shaun Dill, 34, of Long Bay Lane, Sandys, have been dismissed. Jamaican national Lincoln George Brown, 35, of Rock Valley, Warwick, who pleaded not guilty to the importation of cocaine with the intention of supplying it, will return for next month?s arraignments.
Denton Jermaine Parris, 32, of no fixed abode, will go to trial on February 16 for a March robbery. Toriano Elmario Dunkley, 32, of Sugar Apple Lane, Pembroke, accused of two counts of house breaking, will be mentioned again at next month?s arraignments session
Kyle Tannock-Williams, 21, of Whaling Hill, Southampton, who pleaded not guilty to charges of assault with intent to rob, unlawful assault and possession of cocaine will stand trial on January 12. While Wilston Ezekiel Davis, a 42-year-old Jamaican, of Somerset Road, who has denied supplying controlled drugs in June will go to trial on January 26.
Colford Lloyd Ferguson, 22, of Cedar Avenue, who has admitted causing grievous bodily harm to Champions Sports Club owner Delvin Bean in February, will be sentenced on November 14.
Isaac Jerith Griffiths, 18, of Aerial View Road, Devonshire who pleaded not guilty to robbery with violence of a motor bike from Henry James Tucker on June 26 will appear at next month?s arraignments session while Ishmael Greg Makaya Lightbourne, 23, of Green Acres, Devonshire, who was jointly charged and pleaded guilty, will be sentenced on November 14.
