BUT conference kicking off

Education Minister Paula Cox and Shadow Minister Neville Darrell mingled with overseas presenters and local educators last night at a reception held to kick off this year?s annual Teachers? Conference.

The conference, which the Ministry attends but is run by the Bermuda Union of Teachers (BUT), will feature different workshops for public school teachers. Some of the workshops will be aimed directly at specific teachers, such as P.E. teachers, and some at school counsellors. There will also be workshops on music, writing and literacy.

Spread over two days at CedarBridge, the workshops begin this morning and will involve all teachers from all public schools. In past years private schools have often sent some of their staff to participate.
