A substance believed to be incendiary was found on CedarBridge Academy premises last week ? sparking safety concerns. The matter has been handed over to the Police.

The Ministry of Education said one student had been recommended for expulsion.

Meanwhile, another investigation is also under way after a bottle with an unknown substance was found on the school grounds this week.

A security officer discovered a bottle with an unidentified substance. This had been placed on the premises by a student.

No one has been hurt as a result of the incidents. The Education Ministry has urged teachers to remain vigilant and report suspicious packages to the administration.

Bermuda Teachers Union President Lisa Trott was not aware of the incidents but said that while concerned she was not overly surprised. ?It is not the first time that these things have happened. ?As these things continue to happen in the community we can expect that they will take place in the school as well.?

A Ministry of Education spokesman was not reachable for further comment on the incident yesterday evening.
