Police are investigating an allegation that two boys at CedarBridge Academy sexually assaulted a female student.

The alleged attack is understood to have taken place on Monday.

The Ministry of Education last night confirmed Police are investigating the incident but would not provide any further details.

In a statement, the Ministry said: "The Ministry would like to assure the public that all of the Island's schools continue to stress respectful, conduct and behaviour towards all students and maintain that there is zero tolerance for such alleged behaviour.

"In addition, severe consequences will be the result if any wrongdoing has been officially determined."

Neither Police nor CedarBridge principal Kalmar Richards returned calls seeking comment yesterday.
