Coco Reef sweeps the board
Coco Reef Resorts Ltd. swept the board with four trophies at the 2005 World Travel Awards in London recently, including the major World Travel Award for ?Best Interior Design? and ?Leading Resort in Bermuda?.
The star studded event, held at the Royal Opera House in London in conjunction with the recent World Travel Market, was attended by some 700 guests and was broadcast globally by BBC World, Discovery Channel and the Arabian Travel Channel as well as numerous other media outlets around the globe.
General manager of Coco Reef Resort, Robin Gilbert said: ?Whilst all facets of the new design of Coco Reef in Bermuda are outstanding, everyone who visits our resort comments in glowing terms about the main building, especially our lobby.?
He said it contributed to the resort?s enhanced reputation and ?increased occupancy this year?.
?Many of our guests say that the lobby is more like that of a Five Star, 250 room hotel, than a 70-room property.
?We are in the business of theatre and we must wow our guests from the moment they walk through the door,? he said.
Owner of Coco Reef Resorts Ltd., John Jefferis, confirmed that additional improvements are planned for the Bermuda property during this coming winter.
This includes major work to the hotel?s infrastructure, including the kitchen and additions to the restaurant.
Mr. Jefferis said: ?As our guests? expectations continue to increase we must ensure that every facet of our product meets those expectations.
?We are confident that, as a result of the new marketing initiatives put in place by the Department of Tourism coupled with the exciting new flights, 2006 will be a banner year for tourism in Bermuda.?
Awards were also presented to Elbow Beach as Bermuda?s Leading Hotel, The Fairmont Southampton as Bermuda?s Leading Golf Resort and Cambridge Beaches as Bermuda?s Leading Spa Resort.
