CURE gets new chief
Michelle Scott has replaced Nikkita Scott as chairwoman of the Commission for Unity and Racial Equality in the latest round of Government board appointments.
New members of CURE's board are Pamela Quarterly and Jerome Wilson, while Marcello Ausenda, Sasha Bearden and Ron Gordon are no longer on the board.
CURE's mission is to work toward the elimination of racial discrimination and promote equality of opportunity. They hope to achieve their mission through education, individual, corporate and community involvement as well as by fostering a climate of inclusiveness, sincerity and harmony.
The Charities Commission also has a new chairwoman, Claudia Lambert. Its former chairwoman, Cheryl Harney, is no longer on the board.
The Human Rights Commission board has two new members, Chiara Nannini and Nicole Stoneham, while Marcus Jones is no longer on the board.
And the Rev. Emilygail Dill — the newly appointed head of the Department of Tourism New York office — is no longer on the Bermuda Arts Council board, nor is Wendy Augustus. Crystal Caeser and Patricia Harvey have joined the board.
