Education CEO suffers stroke

Dr. Joseph Christopher, Chief Education Officer, who suffered a stroke over the weekend.

The Government?s Chief Education Officer is recovering in hospital after suffering a stroke at the weekend.

The Ministry of Education said yesterday Dr. Joseph Christopher was resting comfortably at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. Permanent Secretary Rosemary Tyrrell said: ?Our hearts are with Dr. Christopher?s family at this time and we wish him a speedy recovery.

?Mrs. (Marlene) Christopher also wanted the public to know that she has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from his colleagues at the Ministry.?

Senior Ministry staff are working to ensure there is minimal disruption to schools due to Dr. Christopher?s absence.
