Housing Minister to host public meetings
Details of Government efforts to provide affordable housing and how they will impact on neighbourhoods around the Island will be discussed at three public meetings to be held by Housing Minister David Burch.
The meetings are specifically aimed at updating residents on housing initiatives currently being undertaken by the Ministry, and will give information on plans and developments affecting communities and allow residents an opportunity to ask questions about housing issues.
There will be one meeting to cover the eastern parishes, one for the central area and one for the western parishes. The first meeting takes place this Wednesday at the East End Primary School starting at 7 p.m.
?I?m hoping to see full participation from residents as this would be an ideal opportunity for them to find out what the Ministry is doing on their behalf as it relates to providing affordable housing for those in need,? said Sen. Burch.
As well as the Minister, representatives from the Bermuda Housing Corporation will be present to register members of the public who are seeking housing assistance.
Two further meetings are scheduled to take place on October 11 at St. James Church Hall in Somerset and on October 25 at the Bermuda Industrial Union?s E.F. Gordon Hall. Both meetings to start at 7 p.m.
