Island plays host to travel agents
Tourism Minister David Allen will be squiring a group of 250 overseas travel agents around the Island over the next three days as part of an initiative to promote tourism.
The travel agents from Canada and the United States will participate in an array of events to highlight Bermuda as "a premiere travel destination through education and interaction," according to the press release on the initiative.
Included in their itinerary is a special presentation on the new African Diaspora Heritage Trail, exploration of the Island's scenic and historic sites and a special dine-around programme highlighting local eateries.
The "Bermuda Marketplace" initiative will culminate with a trade show on Friday in Number One Shed and a special awards ceremony that evening.
The travel agents will be arriving in two groups today and tomorrow.
