Labour relations studies course on offer

Beginning in September, the Centre for Professional and Career Education (PACE) at the Bermuda College will be offering a Labour Relations Studies course.

According to The Workers Voice, the course is suitable for trade unionists, in particular shop stewards and others who are interested in leadership roles in the trade union movement in Bermuda.

PACE director Dr. Eugenie Simmons said the course was timely because of increasing regional and global competitiveness which confronts Bermuda.

This situation, she said, required that all stakeholders ? trade union officials, human resource practitioners and managers ? understood the implications for work force development and labour relations in Bermuda.

The programme provides an overview of labour relations in Bermuda and opportunities to analyse shifts in the labour relations paradigm in the context of globalisation.

Enrolment is open to employers, managers, union officials and anyone who is interested in labour studies.
