Despite Fabian's departure, Island waters may still be treacherous for shipping - after it was revealed that the Gibbs Hill Lighthouse was not operational.

"The lighthouse is severely damaged and it won't be back on for a while," a worker at the lighthouse told The Royal Gazette.

Government's Department of Communication and Information did not return Royal Gazette phone call requests for information on how long the lighthouse might be out of action or the impact on sailors.
