A major US consumer magazine has focused on Bermuda as the place to go for a summer getaway.

The July issue of Instyle magazine lists the Island as one of five favoured destinations to escape to and features a picture of Warwick Long Beach to tempt would-be vacationers.

In its ?travel like a star? section the magazine lists a number of places to stay while on the Island, as well as where to go for a snack or a meal, where to shop and things to buy.

The listed places to stay are the Pink Beach Club or the Fairmont Southampton Hotel where, the magazine notes, celebrities Heidi Klum and Seal have previously stayed.

It says Bermuda is ?known for pink sand beaches and plenty of British charm and attracts stars like Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones.?

For places to go the suggestion is tea at Gibbs Hill Lighthouse, seafood at The Harbourfront and Swizzle Inn for drinks and pub fare.

?Do sink your toes into the pink sands of Horseshoe Bay or Tobacco Bay. Hit the links at Mid Ocean Club,? says the magazine.

And when it comes to shopping readers are recommended to pop in to Lusso?s boutique for top fashion accessories and The Island Shop for embroidered linens, towels and ?handcrafted ceramics depicting Island scenes.? Readers of the monthly magazine are also told to make time for a trip to the Bermuda Perfumery in St. George?s to ?pick up a pretty glass bottle of fragrance made from Island flowers such as jasmine and frangipani.? Instyle also suggests clothes for people to wear when visiting Bermuda. The other four summer getaway destinations featured in the July issue are all on the US mainland, namely; Santa Fe, Idaho, San Francisco and New Hampshire.
