Murder accused can leave Island

A couple charged with the death of their ten-month-old baby girl will be allowed to leave the Island in September for business.

Defence lawyer Saul Froomkin applied for a variation in bail for Amenemhet and Maatkari TaMerry, formerly Dr. and Mrs. Clark Godwin, yesterday in the Supreme Court.

The couple, charged with manslaughter earlier this year, will be allowed to leave Bermuda from September 3 to 21, to restock their clothing store business.

Justice Vincent Meerabux allowed the couple to leave the Island and insisted they surrender their travel documents upon returning to the Island.

Crown Counsel Juan Wolfe said the department of the Director of Public Prosecutions had no objections to the application.
