New chief of consular section is appointed

The American Consulate General in Bermuda has appointed Jill Esposito as chief of the consular section.

Ms Esposito, a career diplomat, replaces Jennifer Schools.

A History graduate from Georgetown University in Washington, Ms Esposito has been posted in Ottawa, Canada and Chiang Mai, Thailand.

In Washington, she worked in the visa office managing visa policy for international adoption and at the Foreign Service Institute, where she was an instructor in the Consular Training Division.

Most recently, she worked in the Bureau for Population, Refugees and Migration, where she managed programmes to deliver humanitarian assistance to refugees returning to their homes in Bosnia. She has also co-ordinated a programme to resettle refugees from Africa in the United States.
