A pensioner is pleading for a burglar to return precious belongings stolen from his Smith?s home.

Alvin Brangman, 81, lost $1,200, keys, credit cards, two passports and three diamond rings set in gold.

Also taken was a gold chain with a small gold scabbard with Ramesis II and Queen Nephatifi engraved on the back.

He said: ?It?s priceless. I got it in Egypt when I was a young man when I was doing a little archaeology. I cannot replace it.

?I am 81-years-old. Why do this to me? I have never troubled a person in my whole life. It is all important, they took everything.?

He said Police had told him whoever stole the items earlier this month must have had a key to his Bridle Hill, Smith?s home because the windows cannot be opened sufficiently to allow a burglar to get in.

Mr. Brangman said he does not normally have everything in one place but he had just returned from a holiday so the items were all stored in a green, zippered travelling bag.

It also contained a camera, a calculator, glasses, insurance papers, doctor?s appointment papers, wallets with important addresses and a silver pen and pencil set.

He said: ?I have a feeling of who the burglar might be, I don?t want to call any names, I just hope they have a heart and return something.

?Please keep the money and jewellery if you need it but return most of what you can to PO Box HM 1456, Ham 5, HMFX.

?There will be no inquiry, no investigation ? just a plain thank you note.? Call 292 2560.
