Resolute comes to the rescue
A Government fast ferry came to the rescue of a local vessel yesterday after it experienced engine problems in the waters off North Shore.
Pilot Dwayne Pearman and the crew of rendered assistance to , a 46-foot power boat with four people on board.
The rescue mission was launched at 1.45 p.m. after Harbour Radio was notified by a member of the public that a boat on the South Channel near Ducking Stool on the North Shore was dead in the water.
The power boat experienced engine problems as a result of contaminated fuel. As was in the area at the time and the vessel could wait for assistance Harbour Radio dispatched the fast ferry to the Elbow Buoy where it picked up the and towed it to a buoy outside of Dockyard. was then passed on to the NavaidBuoy Tender ? , which then towed it to Dockyard.
Marine Services Officer David Simmons said: ?The crew of did a great job ? in times of crisis our boys come together and help where possible.
?It is an unwritten rule to go to the rescue of anybody that we can help within our means. We do this all the time if conditions are conducive for a rescue.?
