Students flock to College Fair

Representatives from more than 50 prestigious universities and colleges ascended on Bermuda College yesterday for the annual International College Fair.

Displays and information on the various institutions from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and the Caribbean filled the gymnasium which was packed with high school students by 9 a.m.

Opening the event was Education Minister Terry Lister who told students the two-day event was possibly the most important on the educational calendar.

With the world becoming a global marketplace, Mr. Lister said it was important to emphasise the importance of quality education wherever Bermuda?s students decide to go to further their education.

Besides students, guidance counsellors from the various public and private high schools also attended the fair to gather information for later use.

The fair is open today from 9 a.m. until noon and 1.30 p.m. to 2.30 p.m. and parents, guardians and guidance counsellors are encouraged to attend, ask questions and collect whatever information they need so that Bermuda?s students can make the most informed decision.
