The Public Transportation Board has announced that the older series of three zone bus tokens will be taken out of circulation as of May 31.

People who possess large numbers of these tokens can exchange them for current three zone tokens at the PTB Headquarters on Palmetto Road.

The older tokens have three holes in them and have been causing problems with the machine that processes tokens, it identifies the older tokens as a ten cent coin because of the quality of metal in the token and the punch holes.

The Public Transportation Board has been taking these tokens out of circulation for a number of years but wants to alert the public that if they have any left now is the time to turn them in and get newer tokens.
