Trial of man charged with attempted murder starts today
A jury has been selected in the trial of the man accused of stabbing American visitor Scott Jable on Front Street.
Lorenzo Prince Robinson, 24, of no fixed abode, denied three charges including attempted murder, robbery and stealing when he appeared in Supreme Court yesterday.
The seven-man, five-woman jury will return this afternoon to resume the trial.
Robinson denied trying to murder Scott Roger Jable on October 28, 2002 by stabbing him in the back with a six-inch knife.
He has also denied stealing a pocket knife from the Knick Knack store on Reid Street and robbing Dominik Wong of his gold ring on the same day.
In Supreme Court yesterday, Robinson was represented by Jonathan Goldberg QC and Elizabeth Christopher.
After the jury was selected, Puisne Judge Ian Kawaley asked the clerk to formally charge Robinson again.
The Crown counsel is Juan Wolffe.
