Wilbur Lowe

The Rev. Wilbur Lowe

Rev. Dr. Wilbur Mclaren Howlitt Lowe, Jr., is the PLP Candidate in Constituency 6, or Hamilton West. His first term in the House of Assembly was as an MP for St. George's South and currently serves as Chairman of the Education Appeals Committee. Rev. Lowe has pastored in various communities on both sides of the Atlantic, and has the distinction of being the first Bermudian to pastor St. Paul's AME Church in Hamilton.

Born in Bailey's Bay in 1945, Rev. Lowe attended Francis Patton School and St. George's Secondary School. He followed that with two years at Rhodes Preparatory School in New York City.

In 1967, while attending Poole Technical College in Poole, England, Rev. Lowe decided to enter the Christian ministry. He earned a Master of Divinity Degree from Payne Theological Seminary in Ohio, graduating at the top of his class. He worked on a second Masters Degree in Educational Psychology, and earned his Doctorate of Ministry from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio in 1992.
