Breaking news: Plea not to give up fight for justice
Murder victim Shaki Crockwell's father today urged fellow grieving families: "Don't give up the fight for justice."
Danny Crockwell issued the rallying call as he prepared for Thursday's Stop The Violence march he has organised with the loved ones of murder victims Shaundae Jones, Jason Lightbourne and Marcus Gibbings.
Nobody has been convicted for any of the four killings, with Police blaming the failure of witnesses to come forward.
Mr. Crockwell said he had received little information from officers investigating the death of his son, who was shot dead on the Railway Trail two months ago.
He told The Royal Gazette: "I just don't understand why he is gone. They (the Police) say they are still with the case. That's all they say. They haven't told me anything.
"I'm not giving up hope. I promised myself I will find out one way or the other."
In a message to all other families of victims, he added: "Don't give up the fight."
The march begins at Hamilton Seventh Day Adventist Church, King Street, at 6 p.m. and heads along Church Street to City Hall, where a candlelit vigil will take place. Everyone is welcome, and grieving relatives are encouraged to bring a photograph of their loved one.
