The International College Fair — held on December 5 and 6 at Number One Shed in Hamilton — attracted about 1,500 visitors and featured 54 colleges and universities from the US, UK and Canada plus one from Morocco.

Sandra Dill, chairman of the fair and admissions officer at Bermuda College, which organises the event each year with the Ministry of Education, said: "It was an excellent turnout.

"We saw about 1,500 people coming through there. We had high school students and middle school students and a lot of foot traffic from the street."

The annual fair gives young people a chance to find out all about overseas educational institutions, from the courses they offer to class size and weather conditions in their area.

This year, there was also a well-attended evening open session for the public about obtaining scholarships and other education schemes.

Ms Dill said most of the colleges represented this year offered degrees in business administration — the most popular subject.

"It's a wonderful opportunity for people to find out about how to finish their education after working with Bermuda College," she added.
