College holds annual fair

Brenda Doran of Bryant University speaks with Mrs. Adela Ruberry of Warwick Academy, Saltus students Freddy Wade, Adrian Turner, Jeremy Gordon and Whitney Middle School student Jamiko Richardson during the College fair at the Bermuda College gym Tuesday.

Students, teachers and college representatives flocked to the Bermuda College gymnasium for the opening of the Bermuda International College and University Fair.

The fair began with CedarBridge Academy and The Education Centre (TEC) students browsing from booth to booth trying to figure out which career enticed them the most.

Minister of Education Randy Horton welcomed the students and representatives to the fair with a welcome speech.

He said: "As a former principal, teacher and now Minister with responsibility for education throughout Bermuda, I consider it a privilege to welcome all of our students for the Island's schools and the number of mature students to the 2007 Bermuda International College and University Fair."

Mr. Horton encouraged the students to come to the fair every year and he explained to them the importance of maintaining good grades in order to get into a college or university. The Minister told the students in order to survive in Bermuda, education is a must.

Mr. Horton told the students to gather up as much information as possible and ask as many questions because "every question is a good question".

The colleges and universities participating in the fair include St. John's University, Brescia University at UWO, Bryant College, Johnson & Wales University, Lynn University, New England Institute of Technology, University of Tampa and more

The fair concludes today.
