Drink-driver is fined and banned

A Hamilton Parish man admitted to drink-driving yesterday in Magistrates' Court.Miguel Tucker, of Highlands Estate, was arrested April 10 on Barkers Hill in Devonshire after officers saw him ride through a stop sign without stopping.Officers approached the cycle and noticed the rider, Tucker, was unsteady on his feet and his breath smelled strongly of alcohol. He was arrested and taken to the Hamilton Police Station.

In court yesterday, Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo fined the 58-year old $800, gave him a one-year driving ban and 12 demerit points.
