Early Dockyard ferry cancelled
The 7 a.m. Dockyard ferry has been cancelled in a decision to take effect on Monday.
The ferry stops at Watford Bridge and Cavello Bay on its way to Hamilton.
However, due to the low amount of passengers boarding in Dockyard, the ferry will now begin at Cavello Bay.
A regular on the ferry said he was told by Marine and Ports the ferry was being cancelled because there were only 19 people boarding from Dockyard a month, based on a staff count.
He said he disagreed because he counts six to 12 people every day.
The passenger explained this is an inconvenience because this is the only ferry a person can bring their bike on.
He complained the only other stop in the West End he could take his bike on would be Rockaway which is about a 15-minute ride away.
This newspaper left messages at Marine & Ports for comment on the cancellation which were unanswered by press time.
It also contacted the Department of Communication and Information but received no response.
